We have visited Rye many times and have always stayed in the same hotel, until the last visit in 2018 was under new management and not to our liking, so we searched on line for alternatives. The Red Cottage popped up on Trip Advisor with excellent reviews so we made the decision and definitely did not regret it. Very comfy room, very decent breakfast, nice lady running it and free parking. Prosecco and cold water in the fridge, too. We will probably be back!
We stayed in the Bradley Wing for a long weekend. Everything was just perfect. Amazing hospitality, beautiful decor, prime location (peaceful and quiet but within a short walking distance to the town centre) and gorgeous breakfasts freshly prepared with the finest seasonal & locally sourced ingredients. Thank you, Gill and Brian. We can’t wait to go back!
We had a lovely three nights in Rye staying at The red cottage.
We had the smaller of the two rooms which is still a good size and beautifully decorated. We both slept very well, the sleigh bed is comfy and the bedding beautiful. The bathroom is clean and spacious and has everything you may need incluiding posh toiletries.
There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and herbal teas aswell as prosecco, milk and water in the little fridge. Lovely biscuits in a jar too.
Breakfast was delicious each morning, everything cooked fresh to order and nothing too much trouble.
Red cottage is in a good spot close to the town with free off road parking.
Rye is a beautiful place to spend a few days relaxing or sight seeing. There are lots of lovely old pubs and restaurants to eat and drink in. Gill and Brian have made a folder with a map and a list of great places to eat around Rye. You can't go wrong if you choose from their favourite places on this list.
Brian and Gill have done everything very thoughtfully, we loved our stay with them and we couldn't have asked for more.
Very happy with our choice.
We stayed for 4 nights in the Bradley suite. It was lovely everything was perfect, clean, comfortable and the attention to detail was wonderful. Gill and Brian made us feel so welcome it was like home from home and the breakfasts were superb just what you needed to start the day. The location was great only a couple of minutes walk into the town center. The added bonus was our own parking at the Red Cottage. We would highly recommend a stay at the Red Cottage. Thanks Gill and Brian.
Just a mention if you like real ale try the "Water works" micro brewery in the high street. Very quirky fantastic beer and the scotch eggs are to die for. Loved our stay in Rye.
Just a few minutes walk from town this is a really good B&B. Why? On site parking, very friendly hosts who clearly know how to run a good B&B - how refreshing. Lovely room (well suite actually). Excellent shower and bath. Walk in wardrobe that contains a fridge with water and fresh milk - all the nice details taken care of. A comfy bed and not a sound outside so a good nights sleep was had. Then there was the breakfast - better than most expensive hotels. Will we return - definitely. Thank you for a lovely couple of days.
On our trip through southern England we only booked one night at this recommended B & B. We felt immediately comfortable in our cozy and elegant room and had a very nice, clean and modern bathroom with large rain shower. The breakfast was served in a nice dining room with garden view and was also very good and extensive. We could not try everything. Gill and Brian are very friendly and helpful hosts, so on the way back we decided to stay another night before taking the ferry from Dover to Calais. Many thanks from Grit and Markus from Berlin!
