Arriving By Car
An empty car parking space, not the most interesting of scenes but it would be if you were looking for a space to park in Rye, it would be like a little piece of hallowed ground.
No exaggeration. Parking in Rye is purgatory and would test the patience of a saint as many a driver will for testify.
Of course the streets were never designed to meet the demands of today’s traffic and perhaps it has been the streets that have preserved the character of our unique town. Guests at the Red Cottage don’t have to hunt or pay for a parking space.
They have a guaranteed spot for their stay, a great asset especially as the town, with all its restaurants, tearooms, pubs and wine bars, are a mere three minutes walk away.
